I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor serving residents in Washington State. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in counseling when I realized that connection, compassion and relationships could facilitate profound change. My education started at Seattle Pacific University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Individual and Family Development and continued to Northwest University where I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology in 2012. I have practiced in various therapeutic settings and capacities, all of which have led me to establish Emily Visser Counseling, PLLC.
I’ve extended my education and training to focus on human sexuality and intimate relationships and I take a multidimentional approach to support personal wellness—body, mind and spirit. I feel drawn to supporting couples and individuals wanting to learn more about how these parts of themselves can flourish. Helping people develop deeper intimate connections with themselves and others is transformative work unlike any other. It is truly a privilege of mine to be a witness to the personal growth within the clients I’ve worked with over the years.
On a personal note, I love calling the Pacific Northwest home. I’ve lived in Western Washington for most of my life and now enjoy living here with my husband and 4 children.
Nice to meet you! I’m Emily…

My clinical training has guided my work through various theories and schools of thought. Below are a few I use consistently in my practice:
Lifespan Integration Therapy (LI) has been a powerful tool in my work with clients who desire healing from past trauma and unwanted patterns and behaviors in the present day. LI theory aligns with my belief that healing can come from within the body, and it’s through integration that we can more fully understand ourselves and how we relate to others. In addition to LI, I use a blend of Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and Mindfulness based practices.
